“Bryce and I have both had pretty turbulent dating experiences. Being ‘older’, especially by standards, was a little bit discouraging as well. I come from a broken, divorced family, so healthy marriage expectations and family life were not really set out for me. I’ve dreamed about meeting my husband and having a family my entire life! I knew the only way to do that was I needed to get out there and through trial and error figure out the dating world to achieve that goal. I downloaded dating apps as the last resort, too, to somehow keep some hope alive that there were still good guys out there that I could align with. Bryce and I matched on dating apps twice! Once on Mutual and once on Hinge. Bryce ghosted me on Mutual. 😉 But when we finally reconnected on Hinge on Mother’s Day, and he said, ‘This is a sign.’ When he finally asked me out, he asked me to brunch! In Bryce’s mind, he thought ‘every girl loves brunch!’ Which is true!! But I was so nervous to go on a date with him. Bryce seemed too good to be true, and I was skeptical. I texted his friend that I knew, and this friend said, ‘I would let Bryce date my sister,’ and I got excited and so nervous! So I redirected the brunch idea and invited him instead of brunch to my place, on my home Turf, with my friends, for a pizza night, so that I could feel a little bit more comfortable and less nervous! On that pizza night, the nerves got the best of me, and I was a little bit more reserved. I couldn’t roll out my pizza dough to save the life of me. Bryce offered me his pizza dough in exchange for my janky pizza dough, and we hit it off from there. After that first date, Bryce deleted all of his dating apps and knew he wanted to pursue me 100%. It took me a little bit longer to be fully convinced. I didn’t know if Bryce was the real deal because things seemed too good to be true. Bryce treated me with so much respect and patience as I kept him at arms length for a little bit to make sure I could trust that he wouldn’t break my heart! With both of us being older, we talked about marriage and what we wanted out of our lives from the beginning! We hopped right to it!! We didn’t mess around and I knew after a few weeks that I wanted to marry Bryce Richard’s. “
