“We had a trip planned to a cabin in British Columbia with our close friends. Tanner recruited the help of our friends just three days before the trip, as he envisioned a sunset proposal overlooking the lake but knew it would be challenging to keep Alyssa in the cabin, given that she is a social butterfly. The girls devised a plan for a ‘cocktail night,’ keeping Alyssa busy while the boys created a rose-petal pathway to a candle-lit spot lakeside. As the sun began to set, everyone headed outside to the cocktail party, only for Alyssa to hear one of her and Tanner’s favourite songs and see Tanner standing at the end of the rose-petal pathway. Once Alyssa realized what was happening, the waterworks started, and she said the easiest ‘yes’ of her life. Romantic, intimate, and timeless were the words that immediately came to mind when asked about the vibe we wanted for our wedding. We wanted the space to feel elevated, yet warm and welcoming for our guests, with numerous candles, lush florals, and music that created a lively atmosphere. Our florist, Dedre at Modern Flower Stories, exceeded our expectations. We envisioned lush white and neutral florals throughout each space at our wedding, and Dedre delivered—curating stunning arrangements of hydrangeas, ranunculus, Italian ruscus, roses, and more. Guests were greeted by four large arrangements on pedestals at the start of the aisle before taking their seats. The aisle was lined with grounded arrangements, leading toward two pillars with flowers cascading from them at the altar. Following cocktail hour at the gazebo, guests found their seats using an epic, flower-filled seating chart. The reception space featured stunning arrangements on each table, mixed among taper candles, making the room feel elegant and romantic. The table settings were simple yet intentional, adding pops of gold and black to seamlessly tie all of the wedding colours together. Our chargers had gold rims and held the dinner menus, which were wrapped in dainty black bows. Gold cutlery and crystal drinkware, rented from Modern Rentals, surrounded the chargers, further enhancing the tablescape.”
