That same weekend, we happened to be invited onto a mutual friend’s boat. Stew had just lost a close family member, and I was navigating the end of a long-term relationship. We both needed a break from reality, neither of us knowing the other would be there. But that day changed everything. Somewhere between cruising on the water and talking with friends, Stew and I found ourselves in conversation. We bonded instantly over our shared love for wakeboarding, fishing, and the outdoors.
