I’m Kara, a wedding and lifestyle photographer based in the Roaring Fork Valley, Colorado. Raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, I grew up around my dad’s passion for film and digital photography, and that early spark turned into a lifelong passion once I planted roots in Colorado in my early 20’s.

My photography philosophy? I believe in creating space for real moments – I shoot candidly with a documentary feel, but I also give direction when needed, keeping things comfortable and fun.

Where are you originally from?

What do you consider your style to be?

Shooting on both Digital and Film, I'd describe my style as timeless and nostalgic. Soft tones, a little warmth and a touch of vintage feel. I lean into a documentary and storytelling approach and step in when needed. This balance gives my work authenticity as well as artful composition.

How did you get started in the wedding industry?

Planning my own wedding! I was a photographer already mostly shooting landscapes, my travels and fly-fishing but once I started planning my own wedding I felt really drawn to stepping into photographing couples and well here we are almost 7 years later.

Do you travel for clients? If so, where?

Yes! I love photographing close to home but I love taking on a couple out of state/out of country weddings a year! A fresh perspective and change of scenery always sparks my creativity. Here's some of the places Couples have brought me to: Oregon, Texas, Montana, Tennessee, Florida, Guatemala, Mexico, Michigan, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona. Travel fee based on location but out of state ranges from $400-$900.
