“Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Dog Creek Lodge in Olney, Montana, our wedding was a heartfelt celebration of love, family, and place. The lodge is especially meaningful to us—it’s a family-owned property that has become a peaceful retreat filled with memories from years spent together in the mountains. When Lyle and I began envisioning our wedding day, we knew there was no better setting to begin our next chapter together. In true spontaneous fashion, we surprised our family, who believed they were simply coming to the lodge for a relaxing vacation. Just weeks before, we revealed that we were actually getting married that weekend. The excitement and joy that followed made the experience even more special and deeply personal. As the Co-owner of JXC Events & Co, based on the North Shore of Oahu, I’m typically behind the scenes creating timeless celebrations for others. This time, I had the joy of designing a day that reflected who Lyle and I are as a couple—simple, elegant, and deeply connected to nature’s beauty. We envisioned an elegant garden party with refined black-and-white details, blending sophistication with the effortless charm of the Montana landscape. We chose to host a micro wedding surrounded by our immediate families and a few of our closest friends who traveled from Hawaii to celebrate with us. Our loved ones helped bring every detail to life—from setting up décor to sharing quiet moments of laughter before the ceremony. The day unfolded exactly as we had imagined—intimate, romantic, and filled with genuine connection. For us, a micro wedding wasn’t just a choice; it was the only celebration that truly felt like us.”
