“Leslie and Alex met while working in a hospital. Alex arrived at the unit where Leslie worked. It was Alex’s first day on the unit, and he eyed Leslie, thinking she hadn’t noticed him. Little did he know, Leslie eyed Alex as well; however was shy to speak to him. She had told her friends that there was this cute guy on the unit. One of Leslie’s friends on the unit, who has no filter, went up to Alex and bluntly asked, ‘Are you single? Do you have a girlfriend?’ Alex had never met this person before because it was his first day on the unit, but he was hoping she was asking for Leslie. Turned out she was. Eventually, Leslie and Alex spoke because we ended up being on the same treatment team in the hospital. A week later, Alex left his phone number on one of Leslie’s work papers. After that, our dating season began. Entering our dating relationship, we had both established that we saw dating as an endgame to get married. As time went on, falling in love, the relationship got stronger, and so did our faith in Jesus Christ. We took a premarital course through our church. In August of 2024, we went on vacation to the Pacific Northwest for some hiking, nature activities, and visiting family friends. We then drove to Cannon Beach, Oregon, where Alex proposed. This was thoughtful because, earlier in the relationship, Leslie had mentioned she would like to get proposed to on Cannon Beach. She didn’t think it would have happened because this vacation was booked at the last minute, due to our work schedules aligning. A year later, we decided to have a small and intimate ceremony at our church with both of our primary families since they would not be able to travel to Glacier National Park for our elopement.”
