“Our wedding weekend was made even more memorable by the personal details we incorporated into each day. Growing up, I always adored my mom’s wedding dress so when David and I decided to celebrate our Catholic ceremony on Thursday, I knew that was the perfect opportunity to include her dress in our celebrations. It was so special to be married in the same wedding dress my mom was married in 30 years earlier. For our rehearsal dinner and welcome party, David created custom illustrations for the signage, cocktail napkins, stickers, and matchbox favors. He also designed tote bags that all of our guests used while ‘shopping’ at the custom M+D Market we built for our welcome party! David’s creativity is one of the many reasons I fell in love with him five years ago and he is always creating sweet surprises for me and for our home; it was so special to share a small piece of that with our friends and family. Our Saturday ceremony at the St. Regis Deer Valley was officiated by one of our closest friends, Kate. In addition to being the sister of David’s best friend since childhood, Kate was my roommate when David and I started dating. She had a front row seat to the beginning of our love story, and was witness to the many bouquets of flowers David would randomly bring over to surprise me (he continues to do this!). Flowers are very important to me, and the florals and decorations at our reception were better than our wildest dreams. The reception was so magical it truly felt like we were in a fairytale! We had so much fun designing unique experiences, like the flower box displaying the escort cards and the hanging greenery in the tent. Another detail we loved was the band, Modern Retrospect. They created the most fun environment for our reception and even played our first dance song live. We went through each of the songs in their repertoire and chose our favorites to curate the perfect playlist for our reception. Much to our surprise, they let us channel our inner rockstars at the end of the night to sing ‘Don’t Stop Believin” with them on stage! Deer Valley was at its autumnal peak all weekend, providing us and our guests with beautiful weather, resplendent foliage, and breathtaking views. Surrounded by our closest friends and family, it was simply the best weekend ever.”
