“This wedding was the perfect blend of fun, quirk, and heart—just like the couple themselves. Set at The Wallace in downtown Vancouver, they embraced the industrial charm of the cranes and container ships in the harbour, loving how it contrasted with their vibrant vision. Bold sunset-inspired florals filled the space with warmth and energy, while guests in all-black attire provided the perfect contrast. From disco balls spinning over the dance floor to a menu of contemporary Asian fusion dishes (think kampachi crudo and mango honey cake), every detail felt uniquely them—joyful, intentional, and full of personality. From the couple: we really wanted to lean into ‘joy’ as a theme. As a couple, we’re very silly and playful and wanted that to be reflected in our wedding. We went through a major loss earlier in the year when my dad passed away just five months before our wedding. It was important to us to create a fun, happy and safe space for all our guests. I know he would have loved that we were all laughing and smiling. I actually had an old ring my dad had made for me when I turned 16 (an aquamarine, my birthstone) turned into a necklace that I wore. It was my something old, new, and blue all in one. We asked our guests to wear black so that the colours would pop even more in photos and in-person. We didn’t tell anyone about our colourful theme so I think many were expecting a black-and-white palette. It was so fun to surprise them with an explosion of colour!”
