“Ryan and I met in college through mutual friends. He was colleagues and roommates with one of my good friends from junior high in high school! When I was studying abroad my junior year, I always heard about ‘Murphy’, but had not met him. After coming home from Italy, we quickly hit it off and began dating in November 2020. Ryan and I are always keen for a celebration of sorts. Over the holidays, each year we go on a fun date night and knock out some last minute shopping. Little did I know this date night would be much different! We did our shopping and then heading to our reservation at Jamie’s Wine Bar inside the Wrigley Mansion. Upon making conversation with the waiter serving our cocktails, he offered a tour of the property. I immediately said yes and promptly said yes. As we walked around the beautiful hallways of the historic home, we were told many stories about Mr. Wrigley himself, and the significance of the home to whom he build for his wife. As we exited the front terrace and made our way around the back of the mansion, there was a beautiful display of roses and photos of Ryan. In that moment, I think I felt my stomach drop and heart skip too many beats. I wanted to say yes before he even asked! We walked over to the beautiful and intentional set up overlooking the mansion and camelback mountain where Ryan got on one knee! As I jumped up and down saying yes, he has our immediate family come out bearing champagne and glasses. It was the most perfect and special day that will live in my heart forever.”
