A Sunlit Aspen Grove Wedding in Colorado

March 21, 2025 BY: Amy

“Jason and I met in Vail in 2016 on the first day of work as ski instructors. Our love blossomed in this small ski town, and it will always have the most special place in our hearts. After seven years, four cities, and three universities, we decided it was time to make it official and we knew without a doubt that Vail was where we wanted to celebrate our love story. Our dream was to create a wedding that reflected our personalities and love story, and we are so proud of how beautifully it came together. For instance, during our first look, we exchanged light-hearted poems reflecting on our seven-years together. In the ceremony, Jason’s dad served as our officiant, delivering an address that perfectly captured the essence of our relationship. Jason’s grandmother hand-made a matching tuxedo for our puppy, Rocky, who proudly trotted down the aisle followed by the cutest flower girls and ring bearers. At the reception, each table was named after a ski mountain we had explored together, complete with a photo and a heartfelt blurb about our experience there. For our first dance, we wanted to set the tone for an exciting night, so we chose ‘Unwritten,’ and invited everyone to join us to dance to the end of the song together. For me, the most touching moment of the night was Jason’s surprise serenade on the drums to ‘Brown Eyed Girl,’ our favorite song. He had been secretly practicing for months, and seeing him perform something he had worked so hard on was the most beautiful gift. Dancing along to his performance was a moment I’ll cherish forever. Our wedding planner, Jennifer Pletcher with Gemini Event Planning, was outstanding. From the very first meeting, it was clear that she was passionate, dedicated, and truly understood our vision. When the wedding day finally came, all her hard work allowed us to fully enjoy the moment without worrying about a thing. Thanks to her and our incredible vendors, our day truly exceeded our expectations. One of the standout features was the sparkling water bar, a nod to my favorite drink, which added a refreshing and elegant touch. The lace linens were another inspired choice, allowing the sunlight to gently filter through the tent walls, creating a warm, ethereal ambiance. And the swirl-shaped flower arrangement suspended above the dance floor was nothing short of breathtaking, adding a whimsical, romantic flair to the space. These and so many other creative touches made our wedding feel truly unique and unforgettable.”
