“Larissa and Josh met during a game of hide and seek while volunteering at the University of Alberta in 2017. The couple got engaged on top of Sulfur Mountain in Banff, Alberta on a snowy spring day in 2023. Their wedding took place on June 15th 2024 in Sylvan Lake, Alberta at Hilltop Wedding Centre. The morning of the wedding the weather was beautiful but unfortunately just before the ceremony the downpour started. The groomsmen stepped into action to move the full floral arch inside just as the guests began to arrive. The ceremony was set to a romantic ambiance with the gentle flicker of the candles, the soft drumming of the rain on the roof of the tent and the nylon string guitarist serenading the guests. Although the day had unpredictable weather, we wouldn’t change anything about how it turned out. Our advice to other couples is to embrace every moment of their wedding experience and to not stress about the things you can’t control. You get the wedding you are supposed to have. Initially, we were both devastated about the rain as we had envisioned an outdoor ceremony. However, after the ceremony began we realized how perfect the moment was and embraced the opportunity to have the most romantic kiss in the rain of all time.”
