“The night we met was filled with so much excitement that even the words ‘marry you’ came out of Jackson’s mouth. We both just felt comfortable and more ourselves than ever, like a feeling of home. We met in Colorado the weekend before Christmas and as cheesy as this is, winter had our hearts the way we had each other’s. It might be the first snowfall, holiday cheer or the coziness of a glass of red wine by a fire, but winter has always been special to us and Colorado winters are something magical. We met in December, got engaged in December, so it felt right to tie the knot in December. But not initially! When we walked into The Manor House a year before our wedding, we had our hearts set on having a summer date. Being winter though the venue was decorated for Christmas and there was even snow on the ground! We immediately felt the magic that Colorado winters bring and it brought back all the feelings from when we first met. That’s when we knew having a winter wedding was perfect for our story. From there, planning for our day came effortlessly. We chose décor, music and flowers all around the feelings the holidays bring. Of course we were hoping for snow, but details aside, we had each other. We wanted the focus to be on remembering the way we felt, present to all the magic that would surely come having our loved ones together. The day we got married, winter granted us our wish! The snow slowly started to fall throughout the day and by the end of our ceremony we saw the first big snowflakes! It became a literal Hallmark Movie as the snow blanketed the ground with over two feet. It made us feel like kids on a snow day, with no worries in the world, just enjoying that moment in all its bliss. We didn’t even notice how cold it was because we were having too much fun. We were the only two people in the world, feeling the way we felt the night we met all over again. Marrying each other gave us that warm, cozy feeling as it was, but our wedding day, with our friends and family singing in the snow gave us a whole other high that brings endless smiles and genuine happiness every time we think of it. Those moments couldn’t have been done without our venue, vendors, friends, and family or without those two little words Jackson let slip the night we met.”
