Effortlessly Romantic Utah Engagement Session

November 30, 2024 BY: Amy

“Our proposal wasn’t anything elaborate or crazy but it was so special to us both! Josh and I talked about getting married a few months before Josh actually proposed, but in June 2022, we on a limb, randomly stoped at a jewelry story and went ring shopping. I picked out the ring I loved and without me knowing Josh apparently bought it that day!! Josh was turning 34 the end of July 2022 and I had planned a little weekend getaway in Park City, Utah to celebrate him! As his birthday got closer I could tell Josh had something planned for that weekend and I immediately knew he was going to propose. I told him absolutely not, that weekend was about him, he had never had anyone plan or celebrate him in that way before so I wanted to ensure he was center of attention and the weekend was just about him. (Looking back now, his sweet soul had a whole proposal planned out and I shut it down. In my defense, I didn’t know it was as planned out as it was.) When Josh knows what he wants he wastes no time and I love that about him! However, I am the complete opposite, I have to ensure all my ducks are in a row. After his birthday that weekend I told him I wanted us to move in together before we got engaged. So we took a few months and by October 2022 we were living together. The rest is history after that! I just felt like everything was happening the way it should and I think we both knew it was time. I nonchalantly started to express a few ideas on how I would love to be proposed to. I am not a huge center of attention fan and Joshua knew that. It’s amazing what you can learn about someone when you live with them. My birthday was the end of October 2022. Josh asked what I wanted to do to celebrate as it was my 30th birthday. I told him I just wanted to get dressed up and go to a nice little dinner and spend time with him. He made a reservation at Log Haven up Millcreek Canyon. We got dressed up and I just knew it was going to happen that night. I just didn’t know how. He was so nervous the whole drive up and eating dinner. I could tell his mind was way off thinking about something else the whole time but secretly knowing why/what he was thinking about I just sat back and seriously fell more and more in love with him knowing what was about to happen. Once we finished dinner, we paid and headed to the car. There is a small water fall across the street from the restaurant and he told me he wanted to check it out. We walked over there, looked at the waterfall and just loved on each other for a moment. He then got on his knee and asked me to marry him and I of course said, ‘YES’! It was just me and him, no one around. The most intimate and special moment I will always remember and hold dear to my heart and just solidified how much I loved him! We ended up going to hangout with a few friends after and was able to share the news and celebrate with them which was also fun for the both of us!
