“Three years ago, on a lucky St. Patrick’s Day, Dj and I met at our favorite local brewery. We both love the holiday (and a good beer!), so it felt meant to be to get married on the same date, three years later. We skipped the traditional stuff and went for an elopement that felt more authentic. Think green suits, cowboy hats, and boots – an Irish Western mashup that fit perfectly. Colorado sunshine and a fresh foot of snow, creating a perfect backdrop in our favorite town. The morning was pure joy. We had plenty of time to get ready with the people who matter most – before our big first look at the Elizabeth Hotel. Dj and I snuck away for a special elopement ceremony. It was simple and easy, exactly what we wanted. Our sweet dog, Beans, was there to be our legal witness and Karina, our beloved photographer and friend, captured every laugh, tear, and meaningful vow. It was intimate, emotional, and the perfect way to start our forever adventure. One of our favorite restaurants, Ginger and Baker hosted our reception. We had a long and fun cocktail hour on the Cache Patio, catching up with all 50 of our favorite people. As a special gift to our guests, we had Karina take individual family portraits of everyone in the beautiful setting. Our dinner portion was a blast, with everyone seated together in the Milltop Room. We enjoyed some of the best food and danced the night away! We ended the celebration at Lucky Joe’s, our favorite Irish pub. The perfect way to end our night! The most unforgettable moment of the day was undoubtedly our first look. Having my six sisters and closest friends watching over me as I walked down the stairs was incredibly special. I lost my mother when I was young, so I knew this moment was going to be difficult, but their presence put me at ease. And then, when I saw Dj waiting for me. Pure joy. It felt completely natural walking down those stairs, knowing I was about to embark on this adventure with my best friend. It’s a memory I’ll treasure forever. DJ’s favorite moment of the wedding day was our private vow exchange. We shared our promises on a beautiful mountainside, with just the kind of goofy touches that make us, us. Our sweet dog, Beans, was both the ring bearer and the witness. It was a simple moment, but it meant everything.”
