Summertime McCall Wedding Filled with Colorful Blooms

“Mox and I met because of the COVID pandemic. I never would have ever predicted the world melting down would have led me to my future husband. He left his studio apartment in Seattle to join his parents in Boise to wait out quarantine, and we ended up meeting on Hinge a few months later. Our wedding was one of the first times we had a family gathering since the pandemic and it was a joy to bring everyone together to celebrate our love story. Our wedding in McCall was a vibrant, mid-century-inspired celebration that perfectly captured our mix of sentimental moments and party-all-night energy. We wanted to create an elevated yet laid-back lakeside affair that felt cohesive and vibrant. The Glass House setting gave the memorable wow factor that let us play with a jewel-toned color palette, high fashion-style portraits, and thoughtful nostalgic details throughout the day. The Glass House has breathtaking views of Lake Payette, Brundage Mountain, and downtown McCall, serving as our dream venue. McCall holds special meaning for us—I spent summers on the lake and winters at Brundage, and it was one of the first places I took Mox when we started dating. We also got engaged while skiing Tamarack, a nearby resort. This mid-century modern home inspired our color palette and set the tone for our intimate ceremony at Brown Park. Mox spent the morning on his parents’ boat on Lake Payette, teaching friends how to wake surf and soaking up the beautiful mountain weather. I got ready at the Glass House with my Maid of Honor, mom, and sisters. We listened to early 2000s girl pop, ate charcuterie, and spotted deer through the many windows. I really prioritized enjoying the entire day from beginning to end, and our vendor team did a fantastic job making sure I got to focus on my loved ones and having fun. Special touches included handwritten letters to each guest, our grandmothers as enthusiastic flower girls, and a German wedding cup tradition. We thrifted vintage skis for a guest book, designed bright eclectic floral tablescapes, and dug up photos from our childhoods for table numbers. My Maid of Honor made signs with our faces so our guests could be part of the classic Shoe Game fun. Instead of Mox and I only voting on each other, all of our friends and family joined in too. We’re regulars at Press and Pony in Boise, a craft cocktail bar. It’s where we had many dates and celebrated big milestones. When we got engaged, our bartenders were some of our most excited friends! Erik, who’s won bartending awards, created craft cocktails to each of our tastes and our guests loved them. Going into wedding planning, we knew it would be hard to be able to have our own bartender but it was yet another reason why the Glass House was a great fit for us. DJ Chris added personal touches by overlaying our vows on our first dance song and creating a heartfelt love story from his interviews with us. I even got to perform my own DJ set! Mox and I both had outfit changes as the party started. We capped off the night with a Hinge-themed piñata and s’mores underneath the stars. Our team did an incredible job capturing our vision for our colorful, mid-century modern-styled wedding. They really made our wedding a success and we couldn’t have done it without their enthusiasm for every aspect of our day. We stayed true to ourselves and focused on the details that mattered to us as a couple. The whole day told the story of us and our loved ones, a vibrant celebration of love and chosen family.”
