“Two months after our engagement, in the Summer of 2022, Aaron and I flew to Eastern Washington for a friend’s wedding. We found ourselves free of any obligations for 24 hours before the wedding festivities started. We had always talked of visiting Montana so we decided to throw caution (and sleep!) to the wind and make the five-hour drive to Montana. We had no real plan, no place lined up to stay, and zero idea what to expect. Long story short, we fell completely in love with the area in and around Glacier and knew that’s where we wanted to be married. When we got back home to Ohio, immediately I started planning our dream Montana elopement for the Summer of 2023. Our week-long trip began in Bozeman, followed by Yellowstone, then Whitefish, and finally Glacier. Our lodgings throughout the week included a remote, luxury yurt, and a bare-bones teepee! We relaxed, hiked, shopped, and explored for four straight days before the big day. Our wedding day began at the Clydesdale Outpost in Whitefish for a quick photo shoot with the horses. We then made the hour and a half drive to East Glacier for the ceremony. Our ceremony was simple and beautiful, with just the two of us, right on the shore of Lake Josephine. As we were finishing up our vows, the weather shifted and a storm started rolling in. During the mile hike from the lake back to our vehicle, the skies opened up and unleashed a rain storm like I’ve never seen! Needless to say, we were not prepared and were soaked head to toe when we reached our car. When the heavy rain let up about 45 minutes later, our amazing photographers, Kylie and Trevor, managed to capture some of the most epic pictures I’ve ever seen! The fog after the rain, set against the backdrop of the massive mountains . . . it was truly an unreal sight. We ended the night eating our beautiful wedding cake from Fleur Bakery, straight from the box, with our fingers, on the balcony of the amazing Many Glacier Hotel (it was late and there was no one around to ask for a fork!). Life couldn’t get much sweeter.”
