If you haven't heard, Paul McCartney married his third wife over the weekend. I actually hadn't heard until I caught a re-run of the clip on the 9:00 news this morning. Sir Paul and Nancy Shevell sealed their three-year relationship at the courthouse on Sunday. What made me just about gasp as I sat drinking my coffee was Lady Shevell's dress. It was fabulous.

My friend gave away pine tree seedings as her wedding guests' favor. It was an apropos gift because this area of the mountains has been hit particularly hard with pine beetle infestation, and many residents have faced mandatory tree cutting over the past several years. The last two years, wedding "season" isn't confined to June, July and August. It's stretched through September and October, and picks up again in March.Personally, I'd rather get married in the fall. It's a gorgeous time in the mountains - leaves are golden, the air is crisp, and the day-time temperatures are comfortable. But does that mean you have to host a Halloween-themed celebration?

I promise I was trying...I really was. I made a pact with myself not to talk about Kim Kardashian's wedding. But I can't help myself. With wedding pix still being held hostage by People magazine and E!, I was reduced to watching the "exclusive" video. The big news - to me - was the monostrosity of the alter. Followed closely by the I'm-not-a-British-royal-but-I'd-like-to-play-one-on-TV bizarre aisle.
