Combining their favorite things (like games, a plethora of snacks and finger foods, and of course fun drinks) we created one of the biggest charcuterie boards to date: an assortment of artisanal cheeses and crackers, cured meats, mixed nuts and seeds, and fresh fruit & veggies – all perfectly arranged atop a five-foot-long hand-fashioned natural-wood plank! The bride is keen on using food as décor, so MGP made sure to include artichokes, figs, berries, pomegranates and green-leafed clementines to complete the look on the decadent charcuterie board. Pretty petals in pastel pink and peach, provided by Lara at Fiori Flowers, dreamily accented each of the platters, displays, and tables. Keeping with the theme of elegant-with-a-dash-of-fun, we served the food on pretty little ivory and gold polka-dot plates, gold-rimmed bowls, and gold striped napkins and straws, all from All Well Rents. The cake and cookies from Indulge Bakery added a wonderfully sweet element to the fun of the night. Some attendees even said the desserts were too pretty to eat! But that didn’t stop the couple from slicing right into the two-tier chocolate cake! There were both heart and ring shaped cookies, iced cookies with the silhouette of a man on one knee proposing to a girl (super cute!), little puff pastries and chocolate eclairs to boot! Apart from all the finger-food and desserts, we kept guests entertained with some hands-on fun! We set up a tall chicken wire frame and clothes-pinned throwback pictures collected from parents and childhood friends, a total blast from the past! A bespoke chalkboard word-search invited guests to participate in finding words and phrases that hold special meaning to the couple like BRONCOS, NEW JERSEY, SAN DIEGO, and FLATIRONS! We had outdoor activities too: a giant wooden X’s & O’s tic tac toe game as well as hand-made cornhole sets! The entire night couldn’t have gone any better, and ended it on a funny note playing the “how well do you know your fiancé” game! We are so thankful to have had the support of our lovely vendors, and a special thanks to Sasha Felix for so beautifully capturing the special moments of the night. Katie and Blake met at CU Boulder in early 2011. Though, there were a handful of times where this Colorado kid and Jersey girl should have or could have crossed paths before (like when they realized they stayed at the same resort on the same weekend in the Caribbean in ’09)! Fate is all about timing, and the pair dated for many years and lived in different cities leading up to the moment where he made it official and popped the question in June of 2016. Katie and Blake currently reside in Denver with their two cats, Ajax and Blue. They are so excited to be tying the knot in July of this year at the Highlands Ranch Mansion.
