Drumheller Love Story

Badlands of Alberta Vow Renewal // Hope & Kyle

Inspiration from the photographer, Michelle of Michelle Larmand Photography: Hope and Kyle's vow renewal is part styled shoot and part real wedding! As I was reflecting on who I would like have pose for a styled adventure elopement, I stumbled upon Hope and Kyle, as I wanted a couple madly in love to come on an adventure with us! I was unsure at this time whether I wanted the setting to be in the Canadian Rocky Mountains or the Hoodoos in Drumheller, but when discussing the location with the couple, Hope said Drumheller before it even left my lips! It was meant to be! The couple was also very excited to renew their vows, so a styled elopement quickly became a vow renewal. The styling was left quite minimal as I wanted it to be something a couple could easily manage when adventuring for an elopement. A gorgeous bouquet and floral crown fit for a queen was crafted by Fabloomosity, simple elopement announcements were created by Bloom Invites. A caramel drip cake was provided by Brianne Gabrielle Cakes and a gorgeous, ethereal gown was the final perfect touch. This was provided by Sarah Janks and Novelle Bridal. On the way to Drumheller it poured rain, making an already dry, dusty place a total mud pit, so we relocated the scene to the very top of Horsethief Canyon. This is a truly otherworldly place where dinosaurs once roamed the earth. Here two lovers renewed their vows to one another and we were fortunate enough to capture images of this emotion filled moment in this fantastic setting. After a celebratory picnic, we then ventured down to the valley below to watch the remaining sun disappear while the two lovers held candles. It was a perfectly romantic, moody and adventurous vow renewal!
