Amangani Jackson Hole // Art Deco Inspiration

April 10, 2017

By Rocky Mountain Bride

Amangani (translated to the Peaceful Home) clings to the crest of East Gros Ventre Butte, some 7,000 feet (2,135 metres) above sea level, high above the town of Jackson, Wyoming. Featuring floor-to-ceiling columns of Oklahoma sandstone, ceilings and walls in Pacific Redwood and chairs of rattan and woven cowhide, the 40-suite retreat embraces the spirit of the West and was host to this art deco-inspired affair. The Roaring 20's are known for their opulence, fashion and feel that still make a statement in today's style trends. Black-tie soiree's, stunning art deco designs and bold metallics are timeless elements from this era, blended with the western elegance of Amangani it creates a new standard for social gatherings in the Rockies. Combining the rich metallics and bold geometric designs with the natural and organic textures of the region, the design team artfully blended these style cues into a bold, new design highlighting the rich materials found in both.
