A Special Treat | Cookies

A Special Treat
By Lindsey Aspinall Getz

You might be surprised to learn that one of today’s hottest wedding favor trends is cookies. Edible gifts are always a hit, and these special treats can be customized for the happy couple. They can feature one-of-a-kind designs or even have a photograph imprinted on them.
Some brides are even making their “Save the Date” announcement by sending a sweet treat. Cookies by Design offers cookie invitations for the bride-and-groom-to-be. Guests will open the invite box to find a heart-shaped sugar cookie with a hand-decorated bride and groom design inside. Your personalized save-the-date card will be featured on the inner flap. Or, consider using a cookie display as a creative center piece which can be given away to a lucky guest at the end of the night.
Rolling Pin Productions can also help you create the perfect cookie as a wedding favor or even for a special dessert tray. “We can make anything into a cookie,” says Susan Caliendo, owner and founder. “From a photograph to a hand-painted portrait. We’ve done everything from re-creating the bride’s wedding dress as a cookie, to cookies of the country the couple will be visiting for their honeymoon.”
For those looking for a customized cookie, Rolling Pin can modify almost any of their cookie designs to match the bride’s desires. They even make their own cookie cutters on-site, so if you’re not happy with the design offerings, you can create a brand new cookie, which will be unique to your wedding.
If you’re looking for a special favor or dessert idea that will have guests talking, cookies just may be the way to go. Not only do they make a great presentation but they’re yummy too. The only downside is how quickly they’ll get eaten up.
